Zeke is a handsome adult GSD. His owner has been fighting cancer for a while and they have just learned it has spread. We want to find Zeke a forever home with people that understand GSDs and that will be willing to commit to his transition and training. Zeke has been outside his whole life. Luckily, his owners have been diligent in keeping him on heartworm preventative and keeping his vaccinations current. He is also on flea/tick preventative. He has not had the benefit of socializing but has never been abused! Zeke's vet reports that he has always been a perfect patient, sits quietly on leash with his owner while other people and pets walk by. He has also been boarded at this clinic with absolutely no behavior issues. We are going to have a letter from the clinic to that effect soon. We are searching for a home without children or where children would be visiting. We are hopeful we will find a loving single person or couple who want to commit to this beautiful, intelligent boy. Right now, Zeke lives with a senior female mix with no problems. However, she was the resident dog when he came to the home.
If you are interested in adopting Zeke, please email Gail at can.adoptions@yahoo.com or call (903) 967-3226.
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
