Hi everyone, Suzie has settled in very nicely with her foster family. She continues to be a fun and friendly dog with great potential. She thrives with a daily routine and has proven to love playing ball as much as just relaxing at the feet of her foster Mom while she works. Suzie enjoys playing with her foster siblings but would do just as well in an only dog home where the humans give her plenty of love and attention. If you are looking for a special bundle of energy and fun please come and visit us!

Hi everyone, I'm Suzie! I just came in to the rescue but I already know I'm gonna find a great home- things have been SO FUN here. I spend my days playing chase with my foster Momma's 2 dogs, fetching the ball (yes I bring it back!), getting belly rubs, watching squirrels through the windows, and just being a happy dog. I've been on walks, and Mom says I don't pull too much, and am learning leash rules really fast. I learned how to sit, down, and give paw in just one day!
This is a great life, but Momma told me I should really have my own family that can give me their undivided attention. Can you believe that? EVEN MORE LOVE. Hey- are you that family? Come visit me and find out! (Also, please bring treats).
Note from Suzie's foster Mom
Suzie is essentially still a puppy, at 14 months old, but she has enough maturity to pay attention and learn commands and good habits. She's really beautiful, with a slightly boxy European GSD head, and a lovely black and dark red color. At 56 pounds I consider her a petite GSD, but she could stand to gain 5 pounds or so. She has been really friendly with people so far, and was shy around my dogs at first, but once she realized they were playful, it was nonstop chase play. She is very very athletic- she likes agility obstacles, toys, and just running hard. She fetches anything you throw her, and when it's time to relax loves nothing more than cuddling- preferably in your lap!
Suzie is highly trainable. She's very eager to please, and very clever. I would love to see her go to a home that has active people who will spend time on walks or runs with her, possibly have another friendly dog, and will spend time teaching her new skills. She would excel as a working, flyball, agility, or obedience trial dog. She is still very new to the rescue, but I suspect will be adopted quickly. Suzie will be attending AGSDR Meet and Greets, so please check out what dates you can meet her.
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
