Child Interaction Observations

When Sundance came to us, she had a skin condition that made her look a bit rough. But once she got better, we saw her true beauty and personality. It turns out she looks more like a Belgian Malinois than a German Shepherd, but we love her just the same, and we know you will too.
Sundance has finished her treatments and has become a confident, playful, and super bouncy girl. She lives with her foster family and their two dogs who love to chase and wrestle with her all day long. She has all the fun qualities of a puppy – she's cuddly, curious, and sometimes a bit clumsy (she often falls off the bed). She brings endless laughter and joy to her foster home.
Sundance is full of energy and needs an experienced dog owner who can keep up with her and make sure she gets plenty of exercise. Having other dog friends would be great for her, and she would also enjoy special training or hobbies. She's athletic and quick, and could be great at activities like agility, fly ball, frisbee, dock diving, and more. She makes great eye contact and responds well to your voice, so training her should be fun.
Sundance's high energy and excitement make her a perfect adventure buddy, but she might not be the best fit for homes with cats or small children. She is learning how to walk nicely on a leash and getting used to her crate.
Sundance is ready to find her forever home where she can keep growing and bring lots of happiness to her new family. If you want a devoted companion who will happily join you on every adventure you can dream up, Sundance could be the perfect match. She’ll even curl up next to you while you sleep so you can dream together.
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
