Hi everyone, My foster mom says it is time for me to tell you more about myself now that I have been in foster care for a while. So … I’m terrific. Oh, you want to know more? Well, I love to play with my foster siblings although they are pretty small and I would probably like a playmate more my size. Another GSD sibling would be great, but if you don’t have another dog, then regular play dates with friends would be OK too. I’m still a little shy and startle easily at loud noises or sudden movements. My foster mom thinks for these reasons I would do best in a home that does not have small children (over 12 is fine). I take a while to warm up to people but once I know you, I love to give kisses. If you will let me (and my foster mom doesn’t), I would be very happy to be on the couch and bed with you. Only one time did I take some food off the counter and once mom said “no”, I haven’t done it again. Mom says I am a typical, goofy, gangly, lovable GSD teenage boy. I love to play with my toys and I am happy to rest in my crate while she is at work. So fill out an application and come meet me!!
Your friend, Roscoe
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
