Meet new girl Piper! Piper is a very sweet little girl, about 3 years old. She is spayed, heartworm negative, housebroken, crate trained, and she is completely trustworthy in the house. She would rather not be crated, but can be if needed. Piper is very shy around people she does not know, and would do much better in a quiet household. A stay at home person or couple would be perfect for her. Little children are a bit much for her, unless she is very used to them. Once she knows you, though she is a delight.
She loves all other dogs, and they love her. She has already won Dante, a VERY dominant male over, and that is quite a feat in itself.....She probably would be fine with cats, although there are none in this household for obvious reasons. Piper loves to play, and play, and she is NOT at all destructive with her toys or yours. In the right household, she is the perfect pup. She is one of those dogs that will always be part puppy, but the good qualities, not the chewing, etc. I do need to stress, though, that in a very active home with lots of traffic and people she does not know, she would not do well at all. If you think Piper might be your girl, please fill out an app for this adorable little girl.
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
