Sweet little Olive is a combination of fun and love. She enjoys being petted and groomed and will sit calmly to allow for attention. She will also snuggle her head into you to ask for attention. She also loves to chase the ball and playing! She has been living with her two older male German Shepherd foster brothers (age 4 and 8 years old); she is respectful of her older foster brother and loves to play with her 4 year old foster brother. She is “cat curious” but has not been aggressive with the cats she currently lives with. She has not been around young children, but does not seem to have any issues with new people she meets for the first time. Olive is not overly fond of being in her crate but will easily go in with a small food bribe. She knows her basic manners but could use additional training once she finds her forever home. This sweet little girl has been a joy to foster and would be a great addition to any family either one relatively new to the GSD breed, or a “seasoned” GSD family.
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
