Hi! We are Nora’s parents, and we are heartbroken that we have to find a new home for our sweet girl. We are relocating to California, and it’s not a pet-friendly place at all. Nora would be miserable cooped up in a tiny city apartment; she loves to play and run! She is happiest when the whole family is home and we can all lavish attention on her. She loves belly rubs and head scratches; she even loves being brushed! She will play keep-away in the yard with her balls. At the end of the day, however, all she wants to do is curl up on the couch with us and snuggle. She will sleep in her crate or on the floor at the foot of our bed. She knows that nighttime is time for sleep. She loves having a big family around her and whines when the kids are away at school or camp. And car rides, oh car rides are her favorite thing! Nothing is more exciting for Nora than going for a drive around town. She loves treats but knows not to beg for them. She has always been an only-dog, but when other furry friends come to visit us she loves the company! She has a “cat sister” and has been trained to be gentle around her, but sometimes she forgets because she really wants to play. A quick reminder to “leave it” is all it takes, and Nora will go play with her toys instead. We want Nora to have a big, loving family with lots of yard space or a nearby park to play in. It’s okay if your family is a little chaotic. Ours is, and Nora thrives on it!
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
