Available early June!
Introducing the Mighty Mia! This little bean is the runt of her litter. When she and her brothers came to our rescue, they all outweighed her by at least 10 pounds. But this bean is sprouting! She gets fed 3 meals a day and is starting to put on some much needed pounds. Mia loves being outside in the backyard and going for car rides and walks. She’s even gone to her first happy hour and did very well in public! She enjoys the challenge of chasing flying insects and loves to play fetch. Mia is not afraid of water and should enjoy going swimming when she gets older. At this stage, she is a typical puppy, learning boundaries, commands and manners. She knows “crate time”, “sit”, “potty outside” and her favorite “good girl!” She is learning not to jump up on people when she first meets them, but that one is tough because she absolutely loves to make new friends! Mia is a very sweet girl that loves giving kisses and is very highly food motivated. She also has a great little mohawk of hair on her neck, which is totally punk rock. She also has opinions that she is not afraid to talk about and is affectionately called Whiny Baby by her foster mom. Mia is already protective in the sense of alerting you to anything or anyone outside the house or yard. This gorgeous girl will be ready to go to her forever home the first week of June, so start your application now!
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
