Hey there, my name is Lucky. I was named by the nice animal control officer that found me with my collar embedded in my neck, and with my chain attached. I was able to have surgery to get my collar taken out of my neck and I am now feeling pretty good. Although, I am very skinny right now, my new foster family is feeding me real good, so I will get my weight put back on.
I am a very happy, loving, and funny boy. I have my foster family laughing at me all the time. I absolutely love pets and love it when you hug me. I love to run, jump, and play in the back yard and I keep thinking about jumping in the pool and swimming but am pretty content just to run, play and sit down on the top step since it is so big.
I know basic commands; I sit, lie down, and jump in the truck to go for a ride. I get along real well with other dogs and I love all the toys at my new foster’s house. I haven’t quite figured out what I want to do with cats though. As long as they don’t talk I pretty much ignore them, however, if they talk, I chase them until they hide.
I am totally housebroken and haven’t had any accidents since I have been here. I am crate trained even though I don’t like it very much, I will go in when am asked.
I am a really good boy and am patiently looking for my forever home. I won’t last long, so if you think you are the right family for me, hurry and get your application in so I can come join you and love my new forever home.
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
