Hello, my name is JJ, short for Jumping Jack. I am heartworm negative, neutered, up to date on all my shots, and I am ready to find my new forever home. My owner passed away and their kids didn’t want me so they took to me a shelter. The shelter workers all loved me and I was picked up by a vet’s office and boarded there for six months until AGSDR took me in.
I was born in June 2010 and I absolutely love to play and run around my foster family’s yard. I currently have a foster brother and two foster sisters that I love to play with. I also have two kitties that I am very enthralled with. One of them loves to just come up and rub her face against mine until I lick her and when I lick her she meows at me and then I just keep trying to get closer and closer to her.
I can do my basic commands, such as, sit, stay, and down and am working on come. I also walk very well on a leash. My biggest bad habit is jumping, which is how I got my name. Whenever I come in from outside, I want to kiss my human, so I jump up to kiss you. Also when you get home from being gone, I jump up to kiss you. I do believe that I am a lap dog because I want to be as close to my human as I can when I am in the house.
I am crate trained, but I don’t like it. I have not eaten or chewed up anything that wasn’t given to me. I was shown the toy box my first day at my foster mom’s and just couldn’t believe the number of toys that they had for me to play with my foster family with. We have ropes, stuffed, toys, balls, Frisbees, swimming toys, you name it and I bet I have it.
I love to go on walks with my foster family and one of my foster sisters talks and I can always tell when it’s time to go for a walk based on what she is saying and where she is standing. If she is standing by the gate to the garage and talking, it is time to go for a walk, if she is standing anywhere else in the house and talking she is telling my foster dad that it is time to go for a walk.
Well, that is all for now, if you want to meet me or want any more information on me, just let my foster mom know and she will definitely get in touch with you.
To my Forever Family, I am patiently waiting for you, I can’t wait to meet you and I will love you forever………..Love, JJ
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
