Meet Harley!
Harley is a super sweet, beautiful, very intelligent and an active girl. Through no fault of her own, Harley joined the agsdr family when her previous owners had unexpected life changes where they could no longer provide adequately for her needs. The separation from her foundation at 2 years of age has created uncertainty for her at this time in her life. Her placement into an adoptive family will be one which can provide a strong stable environment, lots of love, and understands the needs of a two year German Shepherd puppy. We are looking for a special adoptive family where Harley can be an integral family member, one who can spend lots of time with her each day exercising her mentally and physically. At 2 years of age, Harley still has a lot of German Shepherd Puppy Energy. Her adoptive family must have the time to interact with her, spend quality time with her, and ensure she is an integral family member, one which will include her in all family activities and outings. If you are hoping for low maintenance dog or a couch potato, do not apply to adopt Harley. Her ideal adoptive family will be one who is active and can provide a firm commitment to provide Harley with the mental and physical exercise daily she needs to be happy. By doing this Harley will bond quickly and reach her full potential of being the best family companion ever.
She is healthy and active. Our girl loves the human bond and is very human focused. Harley's ideal home will be an active family who is familiar with the calm positive energy and patience required to own a German Shepherd Puppy and guiding them into the next stage of life as they enter adolescence. Harley is very intelligent and will excel and have a blast in a training program where the owner is consistent in participating in the training and praising her for her accomplishments. Harley loves the water and enjoys playing in the sprinkler and playing in the shallow water at the river. She goes for a 2 mile run every morning and every evening and totally enjoys playing ball. If you spend quality time exercising Harley, she will be happy to settle by your side and hang out with you. Although she is crate and house trained, Harley loves to have fun and not be shut out in a crate or be isolated in the back yard.
Harley is very human focused and plays well with the other dogs when she goes to day care and the dog park. It is unknown whether she is cat friendly. Harley is a fabulous German Shepherd and a loving girl who bonds quickly with the human who has the time to spend with her. Submit your application for an opportunity to meet this lovely example of the German Shepherd Breed.
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
