Gunner is a 4 year old handsome black and red German Shepherd.
He is high energy. Loves to run, play fetch till you get tired, because he hardly ever does. He is mostly an outside dog as he prefers it that way. He is house trained, but would rather be running and enjoying the outdoors.
Gunner has had basic command training, but could use a little more. Gunner does well on a leash on walks, or runs which is what he likes best. Living on a 50 acre ranch, Gunner loves to go exploring. He’s a good guard dog, barks when he sees a unfamiliar vehicle, or an unfamiliar face, but once introduced, he warms up quick. Gunner is an only dog, but has done well with other dogs that come to visit. In the Texas summer heat, you can find Gunner running to our pond to cool off, but he’s scared to jump in our pool. Gunner likes to take a slow ride in back of our truck, down the gravel County Road, and his bark tells us, he’s happy just to be included. He loves his belly scratches, the more the better.
Gunner is not a fan of cats.
Overall Gunner is a very loyal dog, as GSD are, and enjoys just being near his human.
Gunner is neutered and current on all vaccinations.
Since Gunner is high energy, and can be a little stubborn at times, his needs will be best met with an energetic owner who will incorporate daily walks and training.
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
