Chato is an energetic 4 year old who enjoys giving kisses and being with people. He loves to run wide circles in the back yard galloping like a horse and usually ends up rolling on his back, rubbing his face in the grass. Chato loves to chase balls, return them to your feet and "drop it". Chasing squirrels is a blast and he enjoys long walks. He sits very nicely for a treat and shakes. We are working on leash walking, down, and out (of the kitchen); a basic obedience course will help him learn these skills. Chato sleeps in the crate at night and during the work day. He will need time in his new home to learn to relax and lay down. He prefers being inside next to someone and cuddling. While watching tv, he heard dogs bark and kids playing, and ran to the tv to watch. Afterwards, he climbed into my lap for a long loving cuddle. Such a tender moment. Chato needs people who are active, ready for long walks, runs, and lots of ball throwing. He needs someone who will work and train with him as he has much potential and is such a love bug. Please consider welcoming this affectionate, stunning boy into your home.
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
