Amanda is a beautiful long haired German Shepherd. She is a complete sweetheart and super cuddly and lovable. She loves car rides and would be a great travel buddy. She also loves the water and playing with her toys. Mandy is definitely all in on tummy rubs. Mandy is working on learning basic commands and is very eager to please. She will make a great family dog and a wonderful companion with an experienced owner who understands the breed. Mandy will thrive with additional training, she is a puppy and does jump up on people when she is excited. Amanda is super smart and is doing well with her house/crate training. It is unknown if Amanda is cat/small dog friendly but she plays well with her 2 canine foster brothers in her foster home. We have not had her around small children. She does have a lot of puppy energy and may jump on the little ones.
Amanda is new to the Austin German Shepherd Family and will will provide additional updates so check back.
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog.
