Allie joined the Austin German Shepherd Family in early February. She is very unique because she is a Tervuren Belgium Shepherd. Teruvian Shepherds are extremely loyal, loving, and committed to family but do need a very active home in order to thrive mentally, physically. Although Teruvian Shepherds can be a velcro dog, they respond well with someone who is knowledgeable in providing calm, positive, and firm guidance and direction.
If you are looking for a couch potato or lap dog then do not apply. Allie will be a loyal loving companion with a family who has the time to devote to spending quality time exercising with her (jogging, running, walking etc) and insuring she is an integral family member. Allie is now ready for adoption and ready to select her forever loving home. Additional photos will be posted soon.
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
