Handsome Alex is a very gentle boy who loves to be with his people. He takes food and treats very softly from your hand. He is crate trained and appears to be house trained (we haven't had any accidents or attempted accidents). He loves to ride in the car and is a fabulous co-pilot.
Alex seems to want to please and lay by your feet when you're hanging around the house. Alex is a total sweetheart! When you reach down to pet him, he will roll on his back to get a belly rub. He also loves to be a lap dog, if you're willing, and loves to snuggle. When you call his name he comes running with open paws and a wagging tail.
Alex is still working on his manners - through the house, with people and with other dogs. He knows sit. He gets along well with other dogs. He seems interested in playing but his fetch skills are unknown. He really wants to play! He enjoys water and baths and does well with being brushed. Alex enjoys going for walks and runs. He would make an excellent running partner. He enters "travel mode" while running right along side you.
Alex is very curious about cats and whether he is good with small dogs is not currently unknown. Being a young male, he would greatly benefit by attending obedience training class. He's a lovely laid back boy who enjoys mental and physical exercise. He is attentive to your voice commands and is very intelligent; a strong trait of the German Shepherd breed.
Looking for a forever home with German Shepherd experience. This is a young, sweet boy would love a home with lots of love, belly rubs and a comfy bed to call his own!
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
