Madison is reliable when it comes to house training and also settles nicely into her spot with her human. Madison is 11 years old and has had a few bumps in the road but she is a survivor. She was turned into animal control with ligature marks on her legs and due to mistreatment Madison had to chew her own toes off to get herself free from the rope or chain that had her bound. This has not affected her sweet and absolutely loving personality. Madison is probably the sweetest girl I’ve been around in a long time. She would rather be petted and loved on than eat. Two Angels came to her rescue. Dr. P. and Dr. P. literally saved her leg from amputation. These two Angels have tended to her wounds since June 2020 and now Madison is ready for a new home. Don’t let the years fool you about this girl. Madison bounds through the yard like a youngster. The fact that she doesn’t have toes on one foot……..doesn’t slow her down…….don’t tell her because she can jump and run like all her digits were intact.
Her ideal home for our sweet Madison will be a stable loving home to live out her senior years who will enjoy having a loyal loving companion and friend to keep them company. Her main objective in life is to love and be loved as the only pet in her new forever home.
She bonds quickly with humans, is a quiet girl who enjoys loving you, being by your side, and being loved.
If you are looking for a great companion who will be eternally loyal and stay by your side to keep you company, you and Madison will be best friends forever. Madison LOVES humans even after the cruel and inhumane way she’s been treated. Madison is a healthy young 11 year female with a gorgeous black saddle. She is spay, current on vaccinations, and the only medication she is currently on is Gabapentin which helps her with her healed foot injury. Madison still moves around like a young spry girl.

NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog.
