Tashi is Tibetan for prosperous, but in reality she is pure joy! She will love you and your family with all of her heart. She still has that puppy energy, but wants to please. For a single person owner, she will be your most loyal companion. For a family, she will be your guardian and love you all. There is not a mean bone in her body. Just remember, she is still a puppy at heart and is just waiting for instruction; the training just needs to be consistent. We are working on basic commands and games; she loves to play 'tag' but doesn't understand fetch...yet :). She had a tough go of it so far, so she really wants the security of your presence. We are working on crate training and separation anxiety. If you leave her outside you need at least 6 ft privacy fence and a very secure gate, she can climb a 5ft wire/chainlink fence like a human walks up the stairs. She is very smart :) She is house trained, walks on a leash very well and did I mention, she sheds the least of any German Shepherd we have ever fostered and she hardly ever barks. If you want a German Shepherd, you want this dog. Come meet her before we decide to keep her.
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
