Hazel is a sweet sweet girl. Black and cream with some reddish tinges, she looks like pure GSD with maybe a pinch of Belgian Malinois. On the petite side, just 56 pounds right now, she will probably top out at 60 and she loves to snuggle in your lap and get some belly scratching.
She is people oriented, and likes to play, chase toys, and lean against you. She is probably 2 years old, no medical issues, and a little bit of the puppy in her with some hand chewing and high energy, but no shoe or furniture chewing. Food is very important to her, and she will wolf down her meal and then hover around the big dogs waiting for them to finish so she can inspect their bowls.
The big news however is that she is fully trained! Sit, Down, Stay and hold stay, Release, all seem easy peasy for her. She is also crate trained, and goes into her crate at night without any fuss and sleeps through the night. Hazel will be a great dog for a young family with a strong leader in the pack.
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog.
