Abbey is having about as much fun as a dog can have. She is intrigued by just about everything that she finds outside. She likes to chase flies and bugs and garden lizards, she dances around under butterflies, and has started sitting on the gazebo bench, or laying on her back to watch the squirrels in the trees. She enjoys just about everything! When she's inside with the boys, she plays with the younger male, or sits in the window and watches people and cars and birds. She has learned that getting her teeth brushed before bed is a good thing because she gets approval and a quick ear rub. She is now an expert at sit/stay for an ice cube or treat placed on the floor, even if we walk away for a second she sits, immobile, focused on the cube or treat, then when she gets the hand signal she's off like a rocket to snatch it up before one of the boys gets to it. She's very trainable, and a lot of fun. Won't you give her a chance to have a home of her own, where she can bring fun, happiness, and keep the bugs out of your yard? She's waiting, for the perfect forever home to come along and find her! If you think you might like Abbey to be your forever friend, put in an application, and come meet her!
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
