Bruno has only been with us a short time. During that time we have learned he is a very loving and playful boy. He still has a lot of growing to do, has been neutered, is heartworm negative, great with all humans and other dogs. He has a lot of energy as he enjoys his current puppy years. He is happy playing with anything that squeaks, rolls, or that he can carry. How can you not love such a sweet face?
Bruno is a loveable goofball who, despite being more than a year old, is still a big ol' puppy. He loves people and wants to please sooo much, but sometimes the puppy gets the better of him and he jumps to lick your face. He is a fast learner and has nearly mastered housetraining despite spending a good portion of his rather short life chained to a tree. He takes any sharp words immediately to heart and crouches and looks terrified and remorseful, so training will have to be with a light and loving hand. He is catching on to sit when his puppy excitement isn't too much for him and we never sensed a mean bone in this big boy’s body. He likes to run but his recall is good and he comes when called by Bruno (or any other name - he doesn't seem to be too picky). If you want a young dog who loves people and wants to be your best friend, but looks formidable if that's what you need, with a little work, Bruno is the dog for you.
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog.
