Don't let my pint-size fool you- I am a big dog just waiting to happen. My foster Momma says I am very brave for a puppy. I climbed the open stairs on the back deck the first time I saw them. I love to play with my big sister at the house- we chase and jump on each other and make growl-y noises and roll around in the dirt (Momma loves that part). When I come inside I like to play with all the chew toys, and sometimes make a big pile of them all around me. If big sis comes for one, I give her a yip to let her know they all belong to me! She thinks its funny and steals them anyway- so sad.
I'm learning how to use the crate. My first night I woke Momma up twice to go outside but I had no accidents! She pays close attention to me so I don't potty in the house. We go outside a lot so I'm learning that's the only place to do my serious business. I would really love an active family that can play with me, and maybe some brothers and sisters too. No couch potatoes please!

The first thing you notice about Nico is how adorable he is- but I want to remind everyone that smart, active GSD puppies like this need a firm hand and solid training. Nico is best suited for a family that will take the time to engage him in many different activities, include training. All GSDs need "jobs" to keep them out of trouble, and smart ones like Nico definitely need a lot of attention, a good routine, and a confident owner and family.
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
