Stark is now fully healed and acting like a puppy. He is always up for a walk or adventure to the dog park and plays well with others. Chase is his favorite game. Since he is still a baby, serious rough house scares him sometimes. When hanging out with the family he likes to keep everyone in sight and will settle down where he can see everyone. He will also curl up on the couch and cuddle when invited.Stark had no boundaries when he came to us but he is learning.
He is also learning basic commands and responds well to cheese as a training treat. He has not had any accidents in the house. He hasn't displayed any destructive chewing but did find a sock to use as a toy one afternoon. Stark now knows socks are "no no"s but anything in the toy box is fair game
He currently lives with a large male GSD and 3 cats and gets along great with everyone. No food or toy aggression. Loves everyone. No destructive chewing. He's a perfect gentleman. He is already house broken and we have not had a need to crate him. We will have more details as we get to know him better. Just look at that sweet face! You know you want to give this big baby teddy bear a furever home!!
NOTE: In our experience many German Shepherd Dogs are very good with kids. In our bios, we may provide information on our experience with a particular dog and children. However AGSDR discourages ALL unsupervised animal/child interaction. Children should be supervised at all times when they interact with ANY animal, whether it is a horse, dog, cat, bunny, lizard, or any other species. Even loving household pets can have a grumpy day, or otherwise get tired of a child's attention, so proper supervision is essential for the well being of any child and any pet.
The entire biography of this dog is based solely upon our volunteers' experiences with the dog. The dog's age and weight are estimates, and statements about the health, temperament, training, and ability to get along with other animals, children, cats and other dogs, are estimated solely based on our volunteer's experiences with this dog. Your experiences with this dog may be quite different than those of our volunteers.
